Analog turntable with Bluetooth® aptX® transmitter that streams music from LP Records wirelessly

The TN-400BT is an analog turntable that also allows users to listen to LP records wirelessly via Bluetooth® headphones & speakers. A die-cast aluminium platter provides accurate rotational speed while an S-shaped static-balanced aluminum tone-arm provides accurate tracking. The built-in Phono EQ amplifier enables the TN-400BT to be connected to a conventional hi-fi amplifier or a micro hi-fi, while a universal-type headshell allows users to change cartridges with ease.

A built-in Bluetooth® transmitter also lets users listen to LP records wirelessly with high-quality audio (thanks to the the aptX® and AAC codecs). A USB output, meanwhile, enables users to digitally archive their records on a PC at 16-bit/48kHz resolution (equivalent to CD quality). For  convenience, a quality Japanese-made moving magnet-type cartridge comes pre-installed, so users can quickly start enjoying their records without a lengthy set-up procedure.

Description

An evolution of TEAC’s best-selling TN-300 turntable, the TN-400BT also features several key technological improvements to raise its sound quality yet further.

The onboard phono EQ amplifier (designed to support moving magnet cartridges such as the Audio-Technica AT-95E that’s supplied), provides a simple way to connect the turntable to hi-fi amplifiers and audio systems that lack turntable inputs. A new subsonic filter prevents warped records from generating poor quality, uncontrolled low bass.

Naturally, the phono stage also has a USB-output (16-bit/48kHz) for digital archiving onto a PC but it’s the Bluetooth wireless streaming system that’s the stand-out feature here. It’s equipped with the higher quality aptX and AAC codecs so, when partnered with compatible Bluetooth aptX-equipped headphones and speakers, owners can enjoy a higher level of audio fidelity (a helpful LED indicator lets you know when the turntable is connected).

To reduce mechanical friction a new low-resistance spindle has also been developed which, used together with a brass bearing and the precision die-cast aluminium platter, helps maintain a very stable rotational speed.

The static S-shaped tonearm ensures accurate tracking during playback and features a universal-type headshell, allowing easy and quick cartridge changes. All three common turntable speeds – including 78rpm – are supported and switching between them is as simple as turning a knob: there’s no need to get involved with laborious belt-changing.

To distinguish the new Bluetooth-equipped model TEAC is offering it in four superb new matt finishes – red, white, silver and brown – as well as a beautiful walnut finish for traditionalists. Machined aluminium control nobs provide the perfect finishing touch to an elegant package!
